April the 9th was our wedding day. It was an absolutely perfect day.
We didn’t have a theme as such, I knew that I wanted bright pink shoes and a dusky, lilac-gray colour for the bridesmaids. The rest kind of just flowed on from there into pastels and neutrals.
I guess I would describe our theme as vintage pretty with some cute thrown in!
The ceremony was held at Trent’s Estate Vineyard out in the garden surrounded by trees with paper lanterns hanging in them and a pair of doves cooing above us.
It was a very pretty setting. Even though pre-earthquake we were planning a church ceremony we can’t imagine having our wedding anywhere else.
Our photographers from Tandem Photography were amazing. I really wanted photos with pretty light and we were so lucky on the day to get just that and they captured it beautifully. Trent’s was such a beautiful setting for the photos, we are so, so happy with them.
I wanted to add a bit of fun and personality into our reception set up and was so pleased with how it came together from the cuteness of the cake toppers to the sentimental touch of our grandparent’s wedding photos.
Our reception was held at Trent’s also, and while we were off getting our photos the guests were coming up with some inspired messages for our chalkboard guest-book. We had the biggest laugh when we first saw these photos!
Our first dance was too Only You by The Platters, a very old song with the sweetest lyrics. We had a 60’s and 70’s covers band for the dancing and they were great fun. The mix of music got everybody dancing, my 80 y/o grandmother danced for hours!

So impatient for our pro pics! Love this first dance picture a friend took though.
Just got back from our wonderful honeymoon! Still have to wait a little longer for the pro photos from the wedding, but I promise I’ll be back to share them :)
